Openings
I’ve been writing poems for a while but rarely shared them. I wanted a quiet place to begin doing that. Starting poems without an audience was always easy. Finishing them was hard because it implied I might actually show them to someone. I can count my truly finished poems on one hand and I will probably post them here in time. But I wanted my first post to be alive, something I wrote for us here and now.
March stones The last time it hailed I knew I was leaving. My translucent skin cried out, pockmarked all over. Today I crouch on the ridge and shriek, the swift and pebbled winds shoving at my back. But I hunker low, laughing, resilient. On a parallel planet it is raining sapphires. There is still so much to love.
Thank you for reading and keeping me writing. Sending love, Charlie
